We had granddaddy's 90th birthday celebration back in July. What a great day it was for him! A few more pictures from this event!

Weekend
It was relaxing, laid back, restful...much needed! It's crazy that you end summer needing rest but to me that just means we had A LOT of fun! The daily routine can get us back on track and keep us home a little bit more.
Friday night football! It was jersey night and we showed up for CK's squad to be introduced. I think she is going to love being on the cheerleading squad this year!
Saturday morning it was just the two of us up. She wanted to "cook and create" something. I let her do what she wanted and she loved it!
Toys R Us fun! These guys loved running through that store. Beckham screamed when we left Saturday night ended up being a gorgeous night! Perfect front yard fun! CK went with her friend Mary Addison to a Homewood block party.
Jeremy and I are teaching Charlee Kate's first grade Sunday school class. I really think this is going to be a great thing for all of us.
Monday morning, she was up and ready to go back to first grade! That's what happens when the weekend is restful and low key!

Mother's Day out!
This is new to me but something I felt like Beckham needs. Mother's Day out (MDO) Two days a week of social interaction with kids and hopefully lots of hugs and playtime with teachers!!
He did great on his first day. He immediately jumped in and started playing. Once he realized I snuck out, it might have been a little shock for a few minutes. I really do think he will do great! When I picked him up, I think he wanted to stay and play longer. That makes a mommy feel good but it was kind of sad because he seemed so grown up! 😂😂
On Tuesdays and Thursdays I hope to try and enjoy that time off and not clean, organize, and volunteer the whole time. I am beginning to think that going back to work might be a better fit for this busy bee 😳😳
Look at that crazy hair! It's growing though! We have to get through this awkward phase.

The first day of first grade!
Yes we are officially back in school, back to routines and schedules, and my baby girl is in first grade! I absolutely love who this little girl is becoming. She truly has a kind and loving heart and cares about so many people. I am so thankful everyday that God chose me to be her mommy. For the record though, I still don't like how fast she is growing up!! My summer was too short with her. Our family does welcome fall any day though. We are "fall" people!
She loves colors and rainbows! This dress was totally appropriate for the first day!
Walking to school....here we go again! So thankful we had a morning with no humidity. Very RARE for August
Here's to an amazing year! We are definitely excited about it

Summer has come and gone
And just like that...summer has come and gone. I am sad to let my little girl go back to school. She is definitely one I love to have at home with me but it's also time for schedule and routines to take over. We are excited for the upcoming school year. First grade, cheerleading, football games, some trips planned, etc... It will be a great year!
We are so blessed to have had a great summer spent with so many family and friends!
Cheer camp with the varsity cheerleaders. Charlee Kate loves cheerleading!
Her sweet friend Leyton. These girls have so much fun together!

Charlotte visit
The visit was very relaxing and low key. That's what we needed here at the end of the summer. It was a great visit. A Beech mountain trip was squeezed in there along with plenty of other things. Now it's time to get ready to get back into a routine!
Taking the light rail (aka...subway train) into uptown Charlotte. Beckham liked the ride
I forgot his stroller for the mall. That means the "mall racer" was a must! Desperate times call for desperate measures! Germy strollers are disgusting but we had to 😱
Birthday celebration at Cowfish! They sang to the girls and brought them a cake. These girls seem to get birthday celebrations that just keep going. So worth it! Can't believe they are almost 6 years old!
