We ❤️ Homewood

I can't imagine living elsewhere! We have a great community, great friends, and we love walking everywhere! (Especially with the "hint" of fall weather we had)

It's been a great week to spend with friends and play outside with my kiddos!
Steel city pops! Love his new Homewood shirt and I am obsessed with royal blue so his shoes are my favorite!
Dinner and popcicles with our neighbors

When he sleeps late, he gets breakfast in the stroller!
He looks so big here! I love this sweet boy with all my πŸ’™

Trucks, trucks, any trucks! He loves them

Busy

Busy is a word we all know! It's something that is in everyone's day to day life no matter what. Yet, it's not always a bad thing. Being busy for us means family, friends, fun, good schools, good health to do all that we do, the opportunity to volunteer, having two healthy children to enjoy keeping me busy, etc... I admit, it's nice to have a "down day/down time". Those times are appreciated more because of all that we have to be thankful for. I am not ready to be the one that's 90 something waiting for people to come by or remembering those "busy" days. This is our prime time...time to treasure! Live it up ❤️πŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’›πŸ’œπŸ’— So with that being said, summer was busy and August has been super busy. BUT...September looks to be laid back, or maybe just busy with whatever we come up with🍁🏈

This weekend Jeremy and I were at home alone and enjoyed the rest, catching up for the upcoming events, and truly relaxing. We definitely caught ourselves saying we missed the noise and the pitter patter of little feet. We were glad to get our babies back from my parents Sunday at lunch. It was nice to get them back!

Neighbors walking to school together. This is a blessing!
She wakes up happy, loves school, tells me that she loves our walks in the morning to talk! Priceless!
Monday my little guy slept in, watched a little TV (2 minutes πŸ˜‚) and enjoyed breakfast
We headed out to walk, to the park, to downtown HW. It was an amazing morning (minus the humidity)
Emily and baby Levi coming to visit from Nashville.
Charlee Kate loved holding him
Picture day at school. We walked outside to feel a hint of fall in the air! Oh how I love fall!!!

Granddaddy's 90th birthday celebration

We had granddaddy's 90th birthday celebration back in July. What a great day it was for him! A few more pictures from this event!

Weekend

It was relaxing, laid back, restful...much needed! It's crazy that you end summer needing rest but to me that just means we had A LOT of fun! The daily routine can get us back on track and keep us home a little bit more.

Friday night football! It was jersey night and we showed up for CK's squad to be introduced. I think she is going to love being on the cheerleading squad this year!
It was fun but hot! She was one tired little girl, especially after the first week of school.
Saturday morning it was just the two of us up. She wanted to "cook and create" something. I let her do what she wanted and she loved it!
Later that day, she created games and had her special snack for me and Jeremy.
Toys R Us fun! These guys loved running through that store. Beckham screamed when we left

Double trouble, sweet neighbors, will probably be best friends!
Saturday night ended up being a gorgeous night! Perfect front yard fun! CK went with her friend Mary Addison to a Homewood block party.
Jeremy and I are teaching Charlee Kate's first grade Sunday school class. I really think this is going to be a great thing for all of us.
My babies at church! CK had two play dates afterwards! She had a fun weekend.
Monday morning, she was up and ready to go back to first grade! That's what happens when the weekend is restful and low key!

Mother's Day out!

This is new to me but something I felt like Beckham needs. Mother's Day out (MDO) Two days a week of social interaction with kids and hopefully lots of hugs and playtime with teachers!!

He did great on his first day. He immediately jumped in and started playing. Once he realized I snuck out, it might have been a little shock for a few minutes. I really do think he will do great! When I picked him up, I think he wanted to stay and play longer. That makes a mommy feel good but it was kind of sad because he seemed so grown up! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

On Tuesdays and Thursdays I hope to try and enjoy that time off and not clean, organize, and volunteer the whole time. I am beginning to think that going back to work might be a better fit for this busy bee 😳😳

Look at that crazy hair! It's growing though! We have to get through this awkward phase.

Sweet smiles! It is a good break for mommy but no doubt I will miss him!!

The first day of first grade!

Yes we are officially back in school, back to routines and schedules, and my baby girl is in first grade! I absolutely love who this little girl is becoming. She truly has a kind and loving heart and cares about so many people. I am so thankful everyday that God chose me to be her mommy. For the record though, I still don't like how fast she is growing up!! My summer was too short with her. Our family does welcome fall any day though. We are "fall" people!

She loves colors and rainbows! This dress was totally appropriate for the first day!
Walking to school....here we go again! So thankful we had a morning with no humidity. Very RARE for August

She went straight to her desk, ready to learn!
Here's to an amazing year! We are definitely excited about it

Summer has come and gone

And just like that...summer has come and gone. I am sad to let my little girl go back to school. She is definitely one I love to have at home with me but it's also time for schedule and routines to take over. We are excited for the upcoming school year. First grade, cheerleading, football games, some trips planned, etc... It will be a great year!

We are so blessed to have had a great summer spent with so many family and friends!

Cheer camp with the varsity cheerleaders. Charlee Kate loves cheerleading!
Her sweet friend Leyton. These girls have so much fun together!
